At the heart of Nabi Nunhue are Kajuyali Tsamani and Jaba Saka, whose life’s work bridges ancestral wisdom and the modern world. For more than forty years, Kajuyali Tsamani has learned directly from elders and shamans representing many of Colombia’s living traditions, building relationships founded on mutual respect and carrying forward the knowledge entrusted to him.
Together, Kajuyali Tsamani and Jaba Saka nurture Nabi Nunhue as a sanctuary for healing, learning, ceremony, and the respectful preservation of ancestral wisdom.
Who we Are
Kajuyali Tsamani is a descendant of the Panche people. He studied anthropology, ethnolinguistics, and philosophy at the National University of Colombia, and has carried out research with different native communities. Over many decades, he has learned from and been consecrated by elders and shamans from several ancestral traditions, including Kogi, Uitoto-Muinane, Kamëntzá, Sikuani, Siona, and Lakota traditions.
In 1998, he created the Foundation for Shamanic Research with his family, dedicated to the research, preservation, and sharing of ancestral shamanic knowledge. Nabi Nunhue was born and continues to be cared for as part of this life’s work. Through his path, Kajuyali Tsamani brings together academic research, ceremonial practice, and the living transmission of ancestral wisdom.
Jaba Saka is known as the Mother of Nabi Nunhue. Her name honours Mother Moon in the Kogi language and reflects the spirit she brings to the sanctuary.
Before dedicating her life to the Nabi Nunhue project she studied law worked as a lawyer. She now cares for the medicinal gardens and has dedicated her life to learning the traditional healing uses of plants. Deeply connected to nature and the sacred cycles of life, her work weaves together ceremony, healing, and the feminine.
Through women’s circles, moon ceremonies, and spaces of quiet reflection, she invites women to reconnect with their own inner wisdom and the rhythms of the natural world.
Their guidance gives Nabi Nunhue its unique spirit - a bridge between ancestral traditions and the present day.
Through their care and dedication, visitors are invited to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with nature, community, and the sacred dimensions of life.
